
Martin Llavaneras (ES, 1983)
Martin Llavaneras (El Segrià, 1983) lives and works in Barcelona. His practice develops around sculpture and installation, exploring the diverse forms of circulation of the raw materials. Llavaneras uses substances that traverse and sediment bodies, objects and words, while examining the cycles through which their meaning is accumulated, distributed and oxidized. He studied Fine Arts in UPV (Bilbao, Spain), HTW (Berlin, Germany) and UB (Barcelona, Spain). Major solo shows include Cau (Pols, Valencia, 2020); Turbaturbo (La Capella, Barcelona, 2019); Fruit Belt (Espai 13 – Fundación Joan Miró, Barcelona, 2017); Humus Recalls Curvatures (Centro de Arte La Panera, Lleida, 2017) and Reengineering Calcium (Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona, 2016). He has also being part of group shows in institutions like Centro del Carme Cultura Contemporànea, Valencia; CAPC — Musée d’Art Contemporain of Bordeaux, Bordeaux; ADA Project, Roma; Meetfactory, Praga; House of Egorn, Berlín; Atelier35, Bucarest; Yaby, Madrid; Saliva, Barcelona, to name a few. He has received awards like Barcelona Producció, Premi Art Nou, Injuve, Beca per a la recerca i pensament de la Generalitat; and has taken part in residencies at CA2M, Centre d’Art i Natura de Farrera and Primer Proforma at the MUSAC in León.
